SiLaw Group Family Lawyers is a boutique family law and mediation firm founded in 2019 in Surrey, British Columbia. Family law is the only kind of law we practise. That single focus shapes everything else about the firm: who works here, how files are run, and how we talk about fees.

The firm was built around a simple vision: to be an approachable and friendly firm providing straightforward, stress-free and cost-effective services to family law clients. Separation is hard enough on its own. Working with a lawyer should make it lighter, not heavier.

Who We Help

We act for people working through separation and divorce, and for parents sorting out arrangements for their children. The issues we see every day include parenting plans, child and spousal support, division of property, and the agreements that put what you decide into writing. How We Approach Family Disputes

Court is one tool. It is rarely the first one we reach for.

Mediation is a confidential, out-of-court process where a neutral mediator helps separating or divorcing partners reach fair agreements on parenting, support, and property. It typically costs less than litigation, runs on your timeline rather than the court's, keeps your family's matters private, and leaves you in control of the outcome instead of a judge. Where mediation or another settlement path suits your situation, we will tell you so. We offer family mediation in Surrey alongside our court work.

Some matters do need a courtroom. When yours does, our lawyers appear in both the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia and prepare your case properly. Either way, we blend legal knowledge with a trauma-informed, respectful approach, because how a family gets through this process matters as much as the paperwork.

The Four Lawyers of SiLaw Group

• Sandy Sihota, Founder and Partner, has practised family law since 2013. Her work covers family litigation, mediation, arbitration and children's law across all levels of court in BC, and she is an accredited Family Law Mediator, Arbitrator and Parenting Coordinator.
• Irin Sidhu, Associate Counsel, practises family litigation with a strong preference for amicable, cost-effective resolution, and drafts cohabitation, marriage and separation agreements.
• Pritesh Pachchigar, Associate Counsel, is a qualified lawyer in both Canada and Australia, practises family law in both BC courts, and is a Nationally Accredited Mediator (Australia).
• Deepika Bhardwaj, Associate Counsel, practises family law with a client-centred, empathetic approach.

Service in English and Punjabi

SiLaw Group serves clients in English and Punjabi. That means you can meet with a lawyer, review your documents, and talk through hard decisions in the language you are most comfortable in, from the first phone call to the final agreement. Legal Aid and Straightforward Fees

We accept qualifying clients through Legal Aid BC programs. For privately billed work, we keep pricing plain. A simple uncontested desk order divorce, for example, is a flat fee of $2,200 plus GST and PST (as of August 2026), so you know the price before we start. Beyond Client Files

Our lawyers teach, speak, and serve in the community, from continuing legal education for other British Columbia lawyers to board work on the prevention of relationship violence.
