Free mediation through the Langley Family Justice Centre
Langley also has a free option. The Langley Family Justice Centre, at Building 100, 120-20434 64th Avenue, offers needs assessments and mediation with family justice counsellors, who are accredited mediators, for parenting, guardianship and support issues at no cost. It does not deal with the division of property or debt, and scheduling is on the centre's timetable. For many families it is the right first step, and since the Provincial Court's Early Resolution process now applies province-wide, a needs assessment there is usually required before a Provincial Court application anyway.
