Where Delta family court cases are heard

Delta has no courthouse. The BC Provincial Court's official list of court locations includes no Delta location at all, so Provincial Court family matters (parenting orders, child and spousal support, protection orders) proceed at a registry outside the city. The closest Provincial Court locations are the Surrey Provincial Court at 14340 57 Avenue and the Richmond Provincial Court at 7577 Elmbridge Way. Which registry a particular file belongs in depends on the circumstances, and confirming that is one of the first things we do when a Delta file opens.

Supreme Court matters, meaning the divorce order itself and the division of family property and debt, are heard at the BC Supreme Court in New Westminster for this region.
