Irin Sidhu is an Associate Counsel at SiLaw Group, focusing his practice primarily on family law.  He is a dedicated and detail-oriented lawyer who provides clients with thoughtful and effective legal solutions. He has a strong perference for resolving matters amicably through agreement, consent orders, and alternate dispute resolutions.

​Irin’s journey with SiLaw Group began in January 2021 as an articling student.5 Following his call to the Bar, the firm was proud to welcome him as an Associate Counsel in September 2021.

Irin brings strong advocacy skills to every file. He has appeared in both the Provincial Court of BC and the Supreme Court of BC, where he advocates for clients on contested matters, including high-conflict property division and complex disputes involving children.

 

While he fights vigorously for his clients' interests, Irin also recognizes the value of resolving matters outside of the courtroom. He employs a client-focused approach, skillfully redirecting disputes toward amicable and cost-effective resolutions in an effort to avoid litigation whenever possible.​ His expertise extends to drafting a wide range of essential legal documents, including cohabitation agreements, marriage and separation agreements.

Prior to law school, Irin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. He went on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University in 2020. During his legal studies, Irin was an active member of the TRU South Asian Law Students Association and volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program at UBC, demonstrating an early commitment to community and the practice of law.

Outside of the office, Irin enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, skiing, and catching up on his favorite TV shows.
