Family Law Services
Family Lawyers Serving Maple Ridge
Maple Ridge sits on the north bank of the Fraser, and for a long time that river was a real barrier. The Golden Ears Bridge changed the math. SiLaw Group Family Lawyers practises family law and mediation from a single office at 3108 Croydon Drive, Suite 201 in South Surrey, and that office is now one bridge and a stretch of highway from Haney, Albion, Silver Valley and the rest of Maple Ridge. We are not going to call ourselves a Maple Ridge firm. We are a Surrey firm that Maple Ridge families can reach without planning their whole day around it.
One Bridge Between You and Your Lawyer
A separation file is mostly conversations, documents and decisions, and almost all of that travels well. Advice calls, reviewing financial disclosure, negotiating terms and even mediation sessions happen by video or phone for most of our clients. The Golden Ears Bridge matters on the handful of days when sitting across a real table is worth it, like signing a separation agreement or working through a hard mediation session in person. Crossing from Maple Ridge through Langley to Croydon Drive is a drive, not a journey.

Where a Maple Ridge Court File Would Go
Maple Ridge does not appear on the Provincial Court of British Columbia's list of court locations, so a court matter means filing at a registry in another community. The closest full courthouse is the Port Coquitlam Law Courts at 2620 Mary Hill Road, a building that houses both the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Divorce orders themselves come from the Supreme Court of British Columbia under the federal Divorce Act. Which registry fits your matter depends on the file, and we sort that out at the start rather than guessing here. The more useful fact is this one. Most separations in British Columbia finish with a negotiated agreement or a mediated one, not with a judge.

Questions from Maple Ridge Clients
Is There a Courthouse in Maple Ridge?
No. The Provincial Court of BC's official court locations list has no Maple Ridge entry. The nearest courthouse with both levels of court is in Port Coquitlam, at 2620 Mary Hill Road. Keep in mind that a large share of family matters never need a courtroom at all.
How Often Would I Actually Cross the Bridge?
Some clients come in once, to sign. Some never come in at all. The free first consultation runs by video, by phone or in person, and after that we suggest in-person meetings only where they genuinely add something, so the bridge stays optional.
What Will This Cost Me?
Your first half hour with us is free. After that, fees depend on what your situation actually needs, and we explain them before you commit. Our pricing and fees page sets out how we charge, including flat-fee options where they fit.
Do You Act for People in Whonnock, Ruskin and East Maple Ridge?
Yes. Distance inside Maple Ridge makes no difference to us, because the file runs by video and phone wherever you are. The law that applies is the same from Hammond to Whonnock.
